Here is Sara Romito from the popular ‘For Every Memorable Day’ blog spot. She wrote a great review which can be found here:

Sara is modelling a magnetic mood bracelet and a heart mood ring from our website.  The heart mood ring has a faceted design and is adjustable to fit average adult sizes.   The magnetic mood bracelet is made from magnetic bead and mood beads.  This has the benefit of being magnetic and also having color changing properties.

We think they look great on Sara and thanks so much for taking the photos.

At Best Mood Rings we do ship internationally and we often ship to Italy.  Thanks also to our lovely Italian customers for your continued support.

Here are some of Sandra’s comments

“One of my favorite pieces of jewelry was my mood ring. Back then I felt that that it defined me as a person which was obviously just apart of being the teenager that I was. Now that I’m older I just simply love the many designs that are offered out there now which is why when given the chance we were eager to review some pieces from Best Mood Rings . Best Mood Rings Review by Daniara Chiara Ripamonti

best mood rings review

Big thanks to talented Daniara Chiara Ripamonti from “None of This is Real” in Italy for her Best Mood Rings Review.  Photos credits – ‘None of This is Real’.  We love her photos too 😉

Buongiorno mostriciattole!

Olympics – London Eye – A Massive Mood Ring

Recent articles by Jay Busbee and Todd Wassermann are very interesting.  They report how the London Eye will be like an enormous Mood Ring.  EDF Energy have consulted with an expert in Twitter sentiment (Mike Thelwall) and linguistic analysts (Sosolimted) who will be interpreting tweets in relation to how England are doing in the Olympics.  The tweets will be analysed according to the amount of positive or negative emotions.

The overall feeling will be shown by the London Eye’s lights which will look like a gigantic Mood Ring.  The Eye will light up with the mood of the nation for 30 minutes.  How cool is that.

These are the mood changing colors.

Green Neutral

Yellow Positive

Purple Negative.

Fantastic, Good Luck to all!

At Best Mood Rings we sell a large variety of mood rings and mood jewelry so you can have your own mood ring that lights up with color!

Generally the mood ring will be a darkish color when cold….. and as the temperature of your skin heats up the ring you will see the mood ring changing color.  The color of the mood ring will stabilize with the current temperature of your skin.  If you get hotter or colder the ring will change color again.

You may notice when wearing a mood ring the most dramatic change in color will be when you first try the ring on.  This is where you will see the beautiful color changing properties e.g. the ring changing from a dark color, through the oranges, greens and blues.  Depending on which ‘mood’ you are in or body temperature the ring will stabilize in color.  If while wearing the ring your ‘mood’ changes so will the color of the mood ring.

Mood jewelry can vary in respect to how well the jewelry changes color.  At Best Mood Rings we only sell mood products that change color well and they are tested before shipping.  Each Mood Ring or Mood Product will come with a Mood Color Chart.  We also have a range of Sterling Silver mood rings that are fully hallmarked by the assay office in the UK.  You can therefore be assured you are buying a genuine Sterling Silver mood ring.

How Mood Rings Work

So How Do Mood Rings Work? and where did they come from?

The History of Mood Rings

Moods rings were invented in 1975 by two New York Inventors Josh Reynolds and Maris Ambats.  However,  Marvin Wernick, claimed he developed the rings a decade earlier. The book ‘Why Didn’t I Think of That’  is said to contain a chapter explaining Wernick’s work with mood rings, which he did not patent, giving others an opportunity to bring mood rings into the market.  Regardless of who invented the mood ring, they were a popular fad in the 1970s and now mood rings and mood jewelry are as popular as ever.

The theory behind the mood ring is that your emotional state will be revealed by the corresponding colors of the mood ring.

How Mood Rings Work?

Mood Rings contain thermotropic liquid crystals inside the stone or the band of the mood ring. These liquid crystals are able to show different colors at different temperatures.  The liquid crystals in modern mood jewelry are usually made from a flat strip of liquid crystals with a protective coating.  These crystals react to changes in temperature by twisting.  The twisting changes their molecular structure, which alters the wavelengths of light or color that are reflected or absorbed.   When the temperature of the liquid crystals changes so will their color and this is how mood rings work.

Do Mood Rings Work  / Do they really show your emotions?

Your mood is correlated with your body temperature.  A person’s normal body temperature is 98.6°F (37°C).  When you are stressed or cold blood is directed to the internal organs and away from the skin and the mood ring will turn a darker color. If you are happier or feeling passionate the crystal will twist in another direction and start to change color as your body temperature increases.  Therefore there is a correlation with mood and your body temperature so to some degree a mood ring can show your emotion.

There are other factors why the mood ring will change that are unrelated to mood such as such as just finishing a workout or having a hot bath.  Mood Rings and Mood Jewelry can’t tell your emotional state exactly but what they can do is provide you with a beautiful color changing ring; a guide to your mood and have a lot of fun deciding which ‘mood’ you are in.

What the Mood Ring Colors Mean

The top of the list is the warmest temperature, at violet, moving to the coolest temperature, at black.

  • burgundy/pink – happy, romantic
  • blue – calm, relaxed
  • green – average, not much going on with you
  • yellow/amber – tense, excited
  • brown/gray – nervous, anxious
  • black – cold temperature

Here is an example of a mood ring changing color from green to pink.
